Computer Assisted Surgery (CAS) - Gestes médicochirurgicaux assistés par ordinateur
To give students an overview of CAS in all the phases of the surgery, from the planning to the patient follow-up. The focus of the course will be not only on the basis of CAS but also in their main clinical applications and in novel industrial technologies.
The course is subdivided in the following three main pillars:
CAS as Pre-operative tool: generation of a patient-specific model and computer assisted as tool for simulation and planning;
CAS as Intra-operative tool: function of robotic systems, basis and function of surgical navigation;
CAS as Post-operative tool: theoretical basis and tools that could be used to plan and analyze patients evolution and main rehabilitation systems.
Guest lectures and visiting industrial and research laboratories could be implemented as part of the course.
