Context

The thesis will be done at Barco-Silex site in Louvain-La-Neuve. Barco-Silex is a specialist in embedded system development (FPGA/board/SW), in video/audio applications and others. Our Viper product transports HDMI over IP using a Zynq SOC. New functionalities can be studied and added in the product.

Objective

The objective is to study audio protocols, audio codecs and its transport.

Objective is also to implement specific audio features like open source codec (Opus codec) or specific audio transport mechanisms of audio (AES-67 for ex) on Zynq SOC platform.

Tasks

The student will have to understand audio standards, transport protocols. He will have to do some C/C++ and use the Zynq SW development environment. He will have to do VHDL development and use Zynq Fpga development environment. He will validate the hardware and software on Zynq or Viper board.

Internship: this master thesis is compatible with a preliminary 10 ECTS internship at Barco Silex.
