Context

The thesis will be done at Silex Inside site in Louvain-La-Neuve. Silex Inside is a specialist in SoC development (ASIC/FPGA), cryptographic engines and video processing. Security platform including HW and SW has been developed able to be used in different applications (Securing the device, communication, contents...).

Objective

The objective is to implement a very lightweight RTOS in a Trusted Executed Environment currently running on a very small controller. The current SW running in bare-metal only will be ported to run on this RTOS enabling multi-tasking. This TEE (trusted executed environment) is emulated on a SoC FPGA. The student will have to understand real time constraint system, hardware/software interaction, performance at system level and define an implementation strategy with the internal team. The SW will be developed in C on a small microcontroller M0/M3 with a focus on low resource constraint and performance.
