Context of the project:

Recently, it was found that, to improve the performance in professional weigth-lifter, it is extremely important to track the gym barbell during the different activites. In particular, the trend of the barbell kinematics (positions, velocities and acceleration) need to be tracked and recorded to personalize athlete training.

Unfortunately, such device is still not present in the market. The aim of the activities is to develop a device able to record the motion (kinematics) and forces (kinetics) of the barbell during power training. The system will be coupled woth a graphic user interface able to record data and perform follow-up study.

The system need to be wireless and able to work during a real training activities.

The thesis is in collaboration with an industrial partner (4-Move SRL, Florence, Italy).
